Which Jurisdictions Are Investing in Incinerators? The Divided Future of Trash Burning

With trash generation climbing and disposal options dwindling, several U.S. jurisdictions are turning to, or debating, new waste-to-energy incinerators or contract renewals. Floridas Miami-Dade County plans to build a new municipal processing facility, as does Saint Paul, Minnesota. Pasco County, Florida, is expanding its municipal waste-to-energy capacity. And in Frederick, Maryland Army base Fort Detrick proposes two new medical waste incinerators.

They are horizon issues that are much closer than many facilities are prepared for. And what struck me most was not the individual technologies presented, but the shift in mindset required to manage whats coming.
