RHEA is currently recruiting a Windows System Software Engineer to work in the Generic Systems and Infrastructure Division, supporting the complete system lifecycle of the computer infrastructure. This job is based at our clients premises in Darmstadt, Germany. Tasks and Activities Your primary tasks and activities may include Support the technical administration and maintenance of the various facility Intelbased computer hardware platforms, Windows operating systems and configurations of the software installations. Providing technical support to the continuous operation of the system, including problem analysis, investigation, resolution and definition of maintenance procedures. Support of procurement of hardware, software and the coordination with external providers of maintenance services Monitoring and tuning the operating system, hardware, network performance and in the case of anomalies, identifying and applying appropriate first line corrective actions. Ensuring that in the case of HW, OS SW, SW, network andor COTS problems, then the operational configuration can be restored. Implementation and management of suitable backup and restore strategies. Analysis, planning and execution of HW, OS SW and COTS upgrades and reconfigurations. Setup, maintenance and performance of an appropriate level of security, both at host and network level. Skills and Experience You must possess the following skills and experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline. At least 5 years experience in the area of technical systems support on distributed Windows 2003, 2008, Windows XP and Windows 7 running on Intel x86 hardware. At least 3 years working in a 247 operational environment characterized by high availability requirements. Microsoft Windows 2003 and 2008 server operating system in particular the active directory system, security and policies, Microsoft Windows XP operating system, Microsoft Windows 7 operating system, Automated centralized deployment of Windows machines Build and distribute Windows Installer like SW packages Oracle relational database management system Fluency in English The following skill would be highly desirable.
