Post Young Graduate Trainee for Business Controlling This post is classified F1. Location ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Our team and mission This position is placed in the Budget and Programme Financial Management Service which is part of the Programme Management Support Office in the Directorate of Science. This office is responsible for the financial planning and controlling of the Directorate, including the cost at completion planning and the management of manpower, commitment ceilings, fixed assets and the georeturn implementation. The office also provides analysis and reporting on key performance indicators to toplevel management and to the ESA Member States. Interested candidates are encouraged to visit the ESA website httpwww.esa.int Fields of activities The Young Graduate Trainee YGT will support the management of the geographic return for the Directorate of Science, which is a key function of industrial policy within the Agency. This function includes the planning, controlling, the definition and implementation of corrective measures as well as the reporting on status and forecast to the management and Member States. This traineeship will also involve the improvement of reporting processes, including the automation of data preparation from different data bases in cooperation with the Information Technology group. It involves the interaction and coordination with several stakeholders within and outside of the directorate and therefore requires a proactive approach in communication and cooperation. The Young Graduate Trainee will be involved the following tasks Development and implementation of the automated process for the reporting of geographic return in order to ensure timely delivery of reports at a constant quality. Supporting the Information Technology group in the development of new tools for providing specific reporting requirements. Preparation of the geographic return reporting of the Directorate. Technical competencies Knowledge of relevant technical domains Relevant experience gained during internshipsproject work Breadth of exposure coming from past andor current researchactivities Knowledge of ESA and its programmesprojects Behavioural competencies Self Motivation Communication Continuous Learning CrossCultural Sensitivity Teamwork Education Applicants should have just completed, or be in their final year of a University course at Masters Level or equivalent in a technical or scientific discipline. Additional requirements In addition to the above competencies, applicants should demonstrate good interpersonal skills and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team. Applicants must be fluent in English andor French, the working languages of the Agency. A good proficiency in English is required. We are looking for a Mechanisms Engineer E3 to join our Ajilon Technology Aerospace team, working onsite at the European Space Agency in the Netherlands. Ajilon is a longstanding business partner of the European Space Agency ESA, with more than 115 employees recruited from across Europe currently supporting ESAs activities. General tasks to be performed Mechanisms support to all ESA project directorates with respect to the implementation of space mechanism technologies in current and future missions, including configuration assessments and mission performance evaluation Establishment of Statement of Work and Preliminary Requirement Specifications for Mechanism Systems, Individual Mechanisms or Mechanism components dedicated to Technology and Research Development. Perform and support in the role of Mechanism engineer, System Level Mission Definition studies and system conceptual design activities in support of the ESA long termfuture mission plans. Identification of enabling mechanism and tribological technologies for future ESA missions. Support investigations of mechanisms being out of performance, including malfunctions and contingency scenarios. Support and contribute to the establishment and maintenance of the Space Mechanisms ECSS Engineering Standards. Generation and setup of appropriate space mechanisms analysis and simulation models using analysis tools based on technical documentation of space mechanisms. Back up and archiving of analysis models for later retrieval. To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background experience is required A Masters degree or equivalent in mechanical or aeronautical engineering. Relevant experience within the field of mechanism design, analysis, verification and testing. Excellent knowledge in space system engineering, specializing in mechanisms, knowledge of the Space Mechanism ECSS standard and its application to the design and verification of mechanisms, together with a good knowledge of space mechanism testing and verification methodologies and techniques and a good knowledge of related mechanisms numerical analysis tools such as Adams, VirtualLab Motion , SIMPACK, MatlabSimulink, Maxwell, Flux etc. Good knowledge specifically of ECSSEST3301CRev.1 Mechanisms. Good knowledge of ESA and its programmesprojects. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively, autonomously and cooperatively in a diverse and international team environment, defining and implementing solutions in line with team and individual objectives, as well as project deadlines. System Engineer

Summary An opportunity for an experienced System Engineer to work onsite at ESTEC for Telespazio VEGA UK. Objective To provide support in the DTEC Directorate in the System team of Small Satellite or CubeSat Project in the area of System Avionics, System Software and System Communication across all phases of the project. Responsibilities Duties Duties will include but are not limited to Support all activities related to System Avionics, System Software and System Communication, from the early definition phase through to implementation phase and launchoperations phase. Maintain interfaces with the relevant Prime contractors or subsystem responsibles industryresearch institute for the assigned projects. Support system and subsystem reviews of the assigned projects and ad hoc support. Follow up on technical issues arising on the assigned projects and participate in risk reduction activities. Help defining operations and support the inorbit commissioning phase of the projects. Qualifications Experience Masters degree or equivalent qualification in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent. The candidate should have expert knowledge of System Engineering and more specifically to avionics, software and communication subsystems through the complete lifecycle including mission designoperations, systems design AIV, subsystem technologiesproducts. Knowledge of experience in the practical application of tailored engineeringquality standards to Small Satellite, IOD missions and CubeSat projects would be an asset. Experience of system and mission design, including system design modelling tools and Concurrent Engineering applied to space mission assessment and design would be beneficial. Knowledge of System of Systems SoS architecting and related tools such as System Architect, Focal Point, etc. and frameworks e.g. MODAF, TOGAF would be an asset. Knowledge and practice in the application of ESA SE Standards e.g. ECSSE10 series and SW engineering would an asset. Essential Skills Good English language skills Excellent interpersonal skills. Good organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a diverse team environment.
