Polyester prices have begun decreasing in the last days in China, as a clear sign that they will possibly drop in the coming months, over an expected decline of material costs and a slowing down demand from fiber processors in China and elsewhere. Yarn prices have stayed relatively stable in the past seven days on the domestic market in Pakistan whatever military incidents with India. Cotton yarn export prices have however begun dropping in the meantime. All these weekly data are available for download over a 12-month period.

E.U. Clothing Imports: Latest and Long-Term Trends (Monthly Report)

EU's clothing imports have remained flat in December in volume terms, whereas unit values were rising in euro terms and falling in US$ terms. China has lost significant market shares in the past year, being now unable to control the rise of its unit prices whereas Bangladeshi shipments were surging in volume terms. Our report covers monthly EU clothing import data, with historical trends being analyzed, and a specific focus on China vs Rest of World (RoW) and Bangladesh, and on knit vs woven clothing. Data are supplied in euro and in US dollars with historical data available for download, back to January 2000.

Polyester Chain Prices: PX, PTA, MEG and Fiber Prices (Weekly Report)

Polyester intermediate prices could now drop in Asia, over a lack of demand from polyester fiber producers. With margins plunging at PTA and MEG plants however, operating rates may be expected falling in the Far East, therefore offering some support to material costs of polyester producers. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono-ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices. Asian Contract Prices (ACPs) are also available for the PX, PTA and MEG markets in Asia, with 5-year charts and downloadable historical data.

India Yarn Prices: Domestic and Export Markets (Weekly Report)

Cotton yarn prices are now stabilized in India whereas blended yarn prices are slightly falling. The decline of the rupee and the rise of the renminbi could now boost cotton yarn exports to China which have dramatically fallen at the end of last year, as reflected by our comprehensive export data covering last December and full last year per destination. Our review of Indian yarn prices covers the domestic and export markets, including carded and combed cotton, poly-cotton, poly-viscose, 100% polyester and 100% viscose. Major yarn production centres are covered with Tirupur (Tamil Nadu), Bhiwandi (Maharashtra) and Ludhiana (Punjab). Yarn prices are compared with fiber prices offering latest trends of spinners' margins. Market fundamentals are available on a monthly basis, including production and exports.
