Inflation in Emerging Countries (Monthly Report)
2019-10-28 18:10:44| EmergingTextiles.com
Inflation is emerging in a series of low-income countries, which could trigger protests and requests for higher wages, therefore affecting the global apparel market. In China, the pork swine flu is pushing up food prices, whereas in Pakistan and Turkey, currencies are no more dropping, putting pressure on exporters still confronted with high inflation rates. Our monthly report offers a comparison of inflation rates in low-cost countries, with historical data available back to June 2007. The impact of currency changes vs. the US dollar, the euro, and the Sterling is also calculated to assess real terms of trade for exporters.

Cotton Prices on International and Domestic Markets (Weekly Report)
2019-10-28 12:13:05| EmergingTextiles.com
Cotton prices have not moved in the last week in New York, with buyers staying on the sidelines ahead of a possible agreement between the United States and China. Demand is relatively limited on the international market, with only Pakistan importing large quantities to offset its new cotton deficit this season. Over the long term, the rally could end, however, whereas cotton use is now threatened by its lack of sustainability. Our weekly cotton report covers the futures market in New York and China, and the physical indicator "A Index". Domestic cotton prices in China, India, Pakistan, and Brazil are also reviewed through a large number of tables and charts. All data are available for download.
