Polyester Chain Prices: PX, PTA, MEG and Fiber Prices (Weekly Report)

Polyester chain prices are now supported by a rebound in seasonal demand in China and a need to replenish inventories. PTA and PSF prices have begun bottoming out on the Chinese market, as a result. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices. U.S. Apparel Imports in 1st half 2019: China vs. Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Mexico and Honduras (Quarterly Report)

US apparel imports have sharply risen from India and Vietnam in the first half this year, stagnating from Cambodia and Indonesia where unit prices have significantly increased. China has resisted in volume terms, thanks to lower unit prices in most categories of products, reflecting a structural reliance on Chinese suppliers whatever the level of import tariffs. Our series of statistical tables offer a comprehensive comparison of volume, value, and unit value changes per origin and product category in the first half of 2019. The report also includes a detailed comparison of Chinese price trends vs. other origins, through a series of indexes. Unit value changes in percentage terms and market shares per category, and per origin are also released. Our full table is available for download.

Daily US grain report: markets on hold awaiting big USDA report

US grain futures prices were steady to weaker in overnight trading. Corn was down around 1/2 cent, soybeans down 1 to 2 cents and wheat down 2 to 4 cents.

Cotton Prices on International and Domestic Markets (Weekly Report)

Cotton futures have stayed stuck below 60 cents per lb in the last week in New York. According to just-released July data, China is increasingly sourcing its cotton from new sources, including Western Africa. Our weekly cotton report covers the futures market in New York and China, and the physical indicator "A Index". Domestic cotton prices in China, India, Pakistan, and Brazil are also reviewed through a large number of tables and charts. All data are available for download.

Viscose Staple Fiber and Spun Yarn Prices (Weekly Report)

Viscose prices have continued to decline in the last seven days in China, also dropping in Pakistan. The VSF prices returned to their level five years ago, as reflected by our historical chart. Our weekly report covers the viscose/rayon staple fiber and filament markets over the previous 12 months. Viscose spun yarn prices in China, India, and Pakistan are also available. Cotton linter, cotton pulp and wood pulp prices on domestic and import markets are being tracked over the last 12 months.
