This position, based near Frankfurt in Germany, is for a Consultant with at least 3 years experience engineering Ground Segment data processing elements for earth observation satellite missions, including requirements specification, definition of interfaces, architecture and testing concepts, as well as involvement in developing processing infrastructure for Level 1 and Level 2 data processing, Our client is responsible for establishing and operating weather forecasting and Earth observation satellite programmes with associated data telemetry and dissemination operations. The successful candidate will be part of the clients Data Processing Systems and Applications Group assisting in the specification, preliminary design, procurement, integration, testing and transfer to operations of Data Processing elements for future programmes under development, and the maintenance and evolution of data processing systems and applications for existing programmes. The key experience and skills sought are Engineering of Ground Segment data processing elements for Earth Observation missions Involvement in specification, design, development andor procurement of the infrastructure for Level 1 and Level 2 data processing, andor Level 1 instrument data processors andor frontend and Level 0 processing Desirable experience includes Requirements management in DOORS Formal system architectural modelling and design tools Knowledge of ECSS and CCSDS standards Knowledge of Calibration Validation activities for Earth Observation products The working language is English.
