Support endtoend GALILEOEGNOS System Integration, Validationand Qualification activities in particular for new features and receivers inthe area of safetyrelated applications e.g. in railway, maritime andautomotive sectors including PVT integrity and assurance securityaspects. Specific qualification requirements PhD or Master degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Physics or Aerospace Engineering. 510 years of experience in fields related to the intended activities. Background and experience in GNSS systems and technologies, inparticular for PVT integrity including SBAS, RAIMARAIM, integration of sensors, etc.. Experience in system design and technologies in the field of wirelesssystems for safetyrelated applications e.g. radionavigation andtelecommunications, and in the field of user equipment technologiese.g. signal processing, design, performances, standardization, etc. forwireless systems e.g. GNSS, 3GPP, etc. Background or experience in at least one of the following is desirable wireless security, GNSS PVT assurance, any of the aforementionedapplication domains railway, automotive, maritime and their associatedsafety standards. Specific knowledge in the design and testing of Radio Navigation systems and equipment. Strong knowledge on the design of satellite navigation systems, ranging and positioning techniques, RF, signal processing techniques, and digital navigation receivers. Relevant experience with the GNSS1, EGNOS andor GALILEO systems and equipment and have and good knowledge of Radio Navigation simulation and testing systems. Proven experience in the implementation, maintenance and operation of complex Radio Navigation simulation and test facilities for spacecraft, aircraft, maritime and land mobile applications. Strong experience at user level with satellite navigation receivers and satellite navigation positioning and integrity algorithms. Some experience of commercial simulation software is desirable Promoting cooperation and teamworking, problem solving. Fluency in English both written and spoken is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Could you manage a team of scientists undertaking algorithm developments, and calibration validation activities for operational Passive Microwave sensors and Radio Occultation instruments? The role We are seeking an experienced remote sensing expert to lead and coordinate our team of enthusiastic scientists, all experts in their own disciplines within a competence area covering Passive Microwave sensors and Radio Occultation instruments. You will manage the Competence Area and its resources, including the development of the scientific knowledge to support the exploitation and evolution of our instrument chains. You will lead on the evaluation of algorithms used in level1 andor level2 processing chains for current and future satellite systems along with defining and executing calibration and validation plans. In this role you will have the chance to interact with user communities, analysing their feedback on current products and potential new requirements. You will also support the Satellite Application Facilities SAFs involved in the extraction of products from passive microwave and radio occultation instrument chains.
