Southeast Interceptor Sewer Repair Project: Design update

Environmental Services is designing a project in inner southeast Portland to repair a deep interceptor sewer line that is deteriorating due to age. The project will extend the life of the sewer and protect public health, water quality and the environment. The city built the large-diameter Southeast Interceptor in 1954. It runs parallel to the Willamette River under inner southeast neighborhoods at depths ranging from 30 to 54 feet.

Piedmont Sewer Repair Project Update: January 28, 2016

Environmental Services is preparing for construction on the Piedmont Sewer Repair Project. The project will repair or replace almost 11,000 feet (over 2 miles) of public sewer pipes in your neighborhood that are on average 90 years old and deteriorating due to age. The work will also include repairing or adding over 2,000 feet of service laterals that connect houses and businesses from the curb to the public sewer in the street.

SE Hemlock and Harrison Alley Sewer Repair Project Update: Design is nearing completion

Environmental Services is nearly finished designing the SE Hemlock and Harrison Alley Sewer Repair Project. This project will replace 470 feet of 120-year-old public sewer pipes in the alley, install 430 feet of new sewer under the small rose garden east of Ladds Circle, and abandon 200 feet of sewer pipe between two properties on SE Cypress Avenue. This project will increase sewer capacity and reduce the risks of basement flooding and sewage releases to homes and streets.

Eastmoreland-Woodstock Sewer Repair Project: December 18, 2015

Environmental Services is repairing or replacing public sewer pipes in the Eastmoreland neighborhood that are more than 60 years old and deteriorating due to age. The work will make the sewer system work more effectively and protect water quality, public health and the environment.

Sellwood-Moreland Sewer Repair Project Construction Update: December 8, 2015

Environmental Services is repairing or replacing about 25,000 feet of public sewer pipes in the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood that are between 80 and 100 years old and failing due to age. This project will help protect the public and the environment by reducing the possibility of costly breaks, leaks, blockages and sewage releases to homes, businesses and streets.
