The Position We are looking to strengthen our Gailileo Service Team with a Ground System Maintenance Engineer delivering cutting edge service to our customer based in Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich with a talented and ambitious team members. Your Role The responsibilities include but not limited to Maintenance of the Galileo Ground Control Center GCC systems fulfilling the requirements of the system operability and the KPI requirements Monitoring and analysis of the GCC system workload Troubleshooting and technical support during operations or maintenance activities Generation, validation and maintenance of software and hardware procedures regarding maintenance tasks Formally logging maintenance interventions raising and processing tickets in the Galileo ILS tool Cooperate with the next level of maintenance L2, escalating incidents and supporting their resolution. The Position We are looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer SOE with strong engineering skills and experience to support our customer EUMETSAT, based in Darmstadt. As a full member of our excellent SOE team, you will deliver a state of the art spacecraft operations for the Sentinel3 constellation. Beside the daytoday operations of the Sentinel 3A3B satellites, you will be involved in the preparation and early operations phases of the Sentinel 3C mission. In this role, you report to the customer EUMETSAT and Telespazio Germanys service manager. The position is fulltime and permanent with an earliest starting date of July 2021. We are looking forward to meeting you! In this role You conduct routine and special operations of the Sentinel 3 satellites. You monitor the satellites subsystems and instruments and analyze their performance and trends. You investigate satellite anomalies and prepare and execute recovery operations. QualificationsExperience You hold a Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering or related area. You have several years of experience working in satellite operations and operations preparation, including ground segment and satellite operations validation e.g. SVTs and simulations and training. You have proven experience with satellite mission controls systems for LEO satellite systems, especially SCOS2000. Involvement in the study or early design phases of future Copernicus Missions e.g. CHIME, CIMR, CO2M, CRISTAL, LSTM or ROSEL is a real plus. You are fluent in English, written and spoken. Crucial Skills You are passionate about satellite operations and engineering. You have a system level knowledge of ground and satellite subsystems. We expect you to have worked with several platform subsystems and ground systems in particular the mission control system. Handson experience with optical payloads is a real plus. For a number of new service positions within flight dynamics division we are searching for a flight dynamics authority to complement our growing service team! You will primarily support and execute launch preparation, LEOP and operational tasks for upcoming missions like ExoMars RSP, Juice and Euclid in close collaboration with other specialists. Further services might be required for Gaia, Bepi Colombo, Mars Express, ExoMars TGO, Hera and Solar Orbiter. The available service positions cover the full variety of flight dynamics orbit determination, trajectory optimisation, command generation and attitude determination as well as test and validation. In addition, you will invent and implement improvements and additions to existing software elements for computation of the dynamical behaviour of satellites, typically on Linux workstations and mainly using the C programming language. You will install the software on the operational platforms and design, coordinate and perform the testing. Furthermore you will participate in system tests and mission simulation campaigns, contribute to space studies, and coordinate internal and external interfaces and activities across subsystems.
