T-Mobile leads growth on Dutch broadband market in Q1

(Telecompaper) T-Mobile's additional market share in Q1 was helped by the acquisition of Tele2 from the start of the year. Its growth on the broadband market though is largely driven by the T-Mobile brand. Telecompaper estimates it added around 13,000 customers in Q1, while the Tele2 brand lost 6,000.

MTN Group expands subscriber base by 4 million in Q1

(Telecompaper) MTN Group gained 4 million subscribers in the first quarter to reach 236.6 million at the end of March, amid strong operational performances in South Africa, Nigeria and Ghana. Active data subscribers increased QoQ by 2.6 million to 81.3 million, and mobile money customers increased by 1.2 million to 28.3 million.

Deutsche Telekom reports underlying revenues up 3.5% in Q1

(Telecompaper) Deutsche Telekom reported first-quarter revenues up 8.7 percent to EUR 19.5 billion, driven by acquisitions in Austria and the Netherlands and continued growth at T-Mobile US. Adjusted EBITDA after leases, which excludes the impact of new accounting rules, rose 8.3 percent to EUR 5.9 billion, and free cash flow on the same basis increased 18.1 percent to EUR 1.6 billion.

Top three China panel suppliers' combined market share exceeds 40% in Q1

According to WitsView, total TV panel shipments in 1Q 2019 reached 70.02 million units, up 4.2% YoY. As Taiwan, Korean and Japanese manufacturers undergo annual maintenance and ease production pressures by adjusting product sizes, China's panel manufacturers take the lead.

Proximus trims FY outlook after domestic revenues fall 2.2% in Q1

(Telecompaper) Belgian operator Proximus reported a drop of 2.2 percent in underlying domestic revenues in the first quarter, to EUR 1.096 billion. The company blamed the fall on lower handset sales and incoming mobile traffic, while noting this had little impact on the margin. The weak Q1 result prompted a change in the company's full-year outlook for "nearly stable" domestic revenues, with the forecast now excluding handset sales.
