Main Responsibilities The postholder will focus on the below main responsibilities Provide customers with ongoing application technical support. This support includes responding to customer issues, transferring to operations updated software that solves bug issues, performing installations and working with the customer service team Acquire and analyse customer needs and problems, making recommendations for new developing solutions Customer analysis to tune applications that respond to customer need Generation and maintenance of Operational Procedures and work instructions Management of service incidents, anomalies and issues troubleshooting Support testing and verification activities Support the maintenance, operation and transfer of the managed applications Provide innovative solutions to common problems Generate ideas for innovating managed applications Work with customer service and quality analysis teams to optimize products and ensure products stay uptodate and continue to satisfy customer needs Contribute to the continuous evolution of the managed applications Regular interaction with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure systems integrity and security Application monitoring and alarm analysis Interface with third party suppliers Technical notes editing support Execute regular application maintenance activities Successful Candidate The successful Candidate will bring Technical skills Good knowledge in Linux Operating Systems e.g. RedHat, CentOS Knowledge of Linux shell scripting Knowledge of Database Management Systems Knowledge of Apache Knowledge of Tomcat Knowledge of Java Knowledge of JBoss Technical Certifications are an asset Personal Skills Fluent in English Language both written and spoken Good communications skills Capacity of working in team Capacity of achieving schedule and milestones Capacity of working under pressure Proactive problem solving attitude Ability to work in a team and to share and acquire knowledge Willingness to travel abroad for shortterm periods Preferable English Certification B1 Important Any offer of employment is contingent upon you providing documents to verify your identity and employment eligibility, as required by law. Serco and Proud Make a difference every day. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Application Developer ,based in Ispra, Italy. Main Responsibilities The task involves the implementation of user requirements, testing, documentation and integration with other systems. The candidate will be developing both lowlevel code for interfacing the hardware components and the software for data analysis and user interaction The candidate will develop will develop mostly on Windows systems, but also on embedded linux and microcontrollers The primary application is the development of user interface that authenticates a user, guide the user through a set of activities, communicates with safeguard devices on RS485 and LAN, logs activities and securely transmits data. The interface is running on a windows PC, and some safeguard devices running linux may need updates according to the development phase A secondary activity is the improvement of existing WPF application that acquires an ultrasonic signal from a probe and perform some analysis and comparison. The development activity consists in the development and test of new algorithm. A similar software is running also on a linux device. Upgrades will be ported also to this platform. Successful Candidate The successful Candidate will bring The candidate needs to have at least a Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field and professional experience in software engineering and development Experience must include software programming using C, .NET, WPF under Windows and embedded software programming on arm processors and linux Serial and LAN communication experience is preferred Secure data transmission is also an advantage Knowledge of SQLSVNGIT is of advantage Good knowledge of English is required Important Any offer of employment is contingent upon you providing documents to verify your identity and employment eligibility, as required by law.
