(Telecompaper) Telia reported a net loss of SEK 600 million for the first quarter, versus a profit of SEK 7.05 billion a year ago, due to losses on divestments in central Asia. Revenues were still up 3.2 percent to SEK 19.85 billion, and adjusted EBITDA rose 7.4 percent to SEK 6.50 billion. Telia also announced plans to buy back SEK 5 billion in shares over the next three years.

(Telecompaper) Lenovo moved to a net loss of USD 72 million in its fiscal first quarter to June, versus a profit of USD 173 million a year ago, after a rise in costs and flat sales in the period. Revenue of USD 10.012 billion was little changed compared to USD 10.056 billion a year earlier, and the operating result was a loss of USD 6 million versus a profit of USD 245 million a year ago.

Telia posts SEK 8.8 bln loss on Uzbekistan settlement

(Telecompaper) Telia reported a net loss of SEK 8.81 billion for the third quarter, compared to a profit of SEK 4.59 billion a year ago, due to provisions of SEK 12.5 billion for settling investigations into alleged corruption in obtaining its licence in Uzbekistan. Underlying profit from continuing operations, which excludes its activities in Eurasia and Spain up for sale, was up 0.4 percent year-on-year to SEK 3.60 billion. Telia completed the sale of Yoigo in Spain during the quarter and said it's also nearing a deal to sell its stake in Fintur, the holding company for its Eurasian activities, to minority shareholder Turkcell. An agreement on this is targeted for 2017, the company said.
