US Apparel Imports in 1st Half 2020: China vs. Rest of World (Quarterly Report)

US apparel imports have more dramatically declined in the first half from China than from other origins. The Chinese fall has been limited in volume terms by a significant slide in export prices whereas they were slightly dropping from the rest of the world. Our statistical report compares US apparel imports from China with shipments from Rest of the World (RoW) for every category of products, in volume, value and unit value terms. Historical data cover first halves in the past five years, from 2015-2020.

US cotton apparel imports have fallen more significantly in the second quarter of the year than man-made fiber apparel imports. The shift by US buyers from cotton to cheaper man-made fiber apparel has been accelerated during the pandemic to limit the reduction in Chinese sourcing. Our series of statistical tables offer a comprehensive view of volume, value, and unit value changes, compared with previous second quarters in 2015-20. Ice Group posts 2nd quarterly positive EBITDA, lifts smartphone revenue 19%, holds talks over more funding

(Telecompaper) Norwegian mobile operator Ice Group has announced positive adjusted EBITDA for the second quarter in a row in Q2 2020 and extended its customer base for the 21st consecutive quarter. Smartphone service revenue was up by 19 percent year on year and the operator has a 10 percent market share. It announced talks for more funding and will release details about this once they have reached a conclusion.

Cashmere Fiber and Yarn Prices in China (Quarterly Report)

Cashmere prices have begun to recover in May in China, according to the latest available data. However, prices have not returned to the peak level reached a year earlier. The pandemic has depressed sales of luxury products after US additional tariffs had already slowed down the demand for cashmere. Our report offers an overall picture of short-term and long-term trends of the cashmere market, including China's exports of fiber and yarns, with volume, value, and unit prices. Cisco quarterly revenues fall 9%, sees continued drop in October quarter

(Telecompaper) Cisco reported a slightly bigger drop in revenues in its fiscal fourth quarter to July, down 9 percent to USD 12.2 billion compared to an 8 percent fall in the previous quarter. Revenues were near the high end of its guidance. Earnings still increased 22 percent year-on-year to USD 0.62, helped by lower taxes.
