Real estate agent loses licence, fined 5k over mortgage ramping scheme

An Auckland real estate agent who was knowingly involved in a mortgage ramping scheme has had her licence cancelled and been fined $5000. The first was for allowing a fraudulent loan application to be made in her name for the purchase of a New Lynn property and the second was for listing and selling three other properties - in Sunnyhills, One Tree Hill and Onehunga - on more than one occasion each, knowing she was doing so to facilitate a fraudulent mortgage scheme.

Huang Fengping, former deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning, found with more than 400 envelopes full of cash at his home, as well as gold bars in his car. A Shanghai health official, whose case was previously linked to British drugmaker GlaxoSmithKline, which was fined last year for paying bribes, has been jailed for 19 years for accepting bribes and embezzling more than 4.4 million yuan.
