Main responsibilities Specific duties this requires continuous availability of the Contractor in the laboratory and fast reaction time in support to Test Centre customers and ESTEC labs requests Direct responsibility to maintain the present scopes of ISO 17025 accreditation of the Laboratory Equipment Pool Humidity and Temperature, Resistance, Capacitance, DC voltages Support new scopes of accreditation for the Laboratory Equipment Pool Perform electrical manufacturingintegration, electrical maintenance and electrical documentation tasks for the ESTEC test Centre and the ESTEC laboratories Perform low voltage electrical safety inspection Inspection, measurement and alignment of parts or units, involving the handling of high precision measurement equipment in support to Test Centre Customers, the Agency Projects and ESTEC laboratories Handling and management of a pool of electronic equipment for the ESTEC Test Centre and ESTEC laboratory users Organizing and supervising of calibration, maintenance and repair of electronic instruments including the related administration tasks Support and advice to the ESTEC Test Centre Customers, ESA projects and the ESTEC labs in the field of electrical metrology Design, simulation and development of electrical and electronic equipment for testing application including prototyping of PCBs and microcontroller circuits NB applicable for the Engineer Job Class only. Ideal candidate The candidate should have a technical degree BSc. Diploma or equivalent from a recognised Institution or equivalent with minimum 4 years of relevant work experience Must be fluent in English A significant experience in electronic test laboratories and a good knowledge of engineering measurement methodologies are requested Familiarity with implementation and management of databases is also necessary Experience in the integration electrical equipment, manufacturing of electrical harness and assembly of electronic boards is required Should have relevant experience in the field of electronic test laboratories and a good knowledge of the ISOIEC 17025 quality system. Additional qualifications or knowledge in one or more of the following areas would be an asset ISO 17025 processes and accreditations Electrical CAD software Electrical safety inspection Computer databases File maker Mathematical background and knowledge of uncertainty budgets Applicants shall be able to work on a selfstanding base and provide flexibility and enthusiasm for the performed tasks. The postholder shall focus on providing a continuous improvement of the working environment, effectively liaising with colleagues and keeping up to date the technical knowhow of the Laboratory Equipment Pool Some knowledge of Dutch would be an asset.
