It employs some 40,000 employees generating revenues of approximately 14 billion per year. A vacancy for a Thermal Design Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Stevenage. You will provide technical support to the CPS Thermal Architect or Spacecraft Thermal Architect when required. You will be responsible for supporting product development activities for Mechanical Platform. The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Validating flight thermal installations during ambient or spacecraft thermal vacuum tests. Reviewing, analysing and documenting propulsion thermal design and workmanship verification test results. Supporting thermal analysis campaigns by coordinating the required resources, providing technical advice, checking analytical output and performing the analysis if appropriate. Performing tradeoff studies and reviewing analysis results to ensure compliance with defined requirements. Presenting results and design justifications at meetings and reviews. Reviewing and authorising design drawings according to the defined design delegation matrix. Performing hardware inspections to ensure compliance with design standards. Designing and documenting development test procedures and coordinating the necessary resources to carry them out. Analysing, documenting and presenting development test results. This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Degree in Thermal Engineering, Knowledge of Thermal analysis and Propulsion systems, Experience in Spacecraft Design and Thermal Engineering, Thermal Analysis Esan. Experience Managing a small team. An understanding of the Eurostar platform and Airbus Defence and Space design processes would be desirable.
