Position Reference 969 IN the context of the ITER project, for the Fusion 4 Energy European entity, we are currently looking for System Engineers to work at our clients premises in the city of Barcelona, Spain. The ITER project aims to build a fusion device, twice the size of the largest current devices, with the goal of demonstrating the scientific and technical feasibility of fusion power. It is a joint project between the European Union, China, India, Japan, South Korea, the Russian Federation and the USA. ITER will be constructed in Europe, at Cadarache in the south of France. The European Joint Undertaking for ITER and the Development of Fusion Energy or Fusion for Energy is a type of European organisation known as a Joint Undertaking created under the Euratom Treaty by a decision of the Council of the European Union. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Support the Systems Engineering Group based in Barcelona, in developing and implementing the Systems Engineering processes across F4E. Act as the interface with Technical Project Officers TPO within F4E Projects Support the development of Tracking and Monitoring Tools for Systems Engineering processes Support in implementing and monitoring the Configuration and Requirements management processes mainly on DOORS Occasionally travel on Cadarache site to support the teams onsite Skills and Experience For Senior profiles, following skills and experience are mandatory Masters degree in Aerospace engineering, Science or IT, with at least 7 years of relevant experience. Experience in one or more of the following Systems Engineering Configuration Management Requirements Management and Verification DOORS database or other Requirements Management and Verification database Developing procedures and policies Project Management methodologies. Excellent knowledge in Microsoft Excel. Ability to write technical documents in English. Good organizational and problem solving skills. Ability to work both autonomously and in a team. Ability to focus on priorities and organize work as well as to deliver on time to agreed standards. Serviceoriented attitude. Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to interact effectively with customers representatives. Proven participation to a System Engineering training. Fluency in English, both written and spoken. YOUR TASKS The EUMETSAT Technical and Scientific Support Department TSS provides support to the operations of the existing satellite systems and to the development of new programmes. Within the System Engineering and Projects Division SEP of TSS, the candidate will provide Model Based System Engineering MBSE support for SysML modelling with Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect to the Ground Segment System Engineering Competence Area. Support tasks may be assigne in any of the following areas of expertise Maintenance and further development of the generic standard model structure for the EUMETSAT systems, including a description of the various folders, packages, entities, relationships, diagrams and queries and the contexts in which they are used, covering the functional analysis, the functional architecture, the logical implementation, the physical implementation, and the behaviour and data flows Maintenance and further development of the EUMETSAT Domain Specific Language DSL Maintenance and further development of the modelling guideline handbook, using the generic standard model and the DSL and covering The EUMETSAT specific topology of Systems, Space Segments, Sites, Ground Segments and Facilities including MultiMission Elements supporting several systems, The implementation of ground segments in different environments Development, Operations, Validation, The implementation of interfaces between the different elements of the systems and their decomposition to lower levels, The detailed modelling of the data exchanged over these interfaces, including the capability to model Application Data Units conveyed in each data stream, and different configurations of the same data stream type e.g. different FTP connections, The modelling and connection of the organisational structure to the technical systems, The modelling of provided services and their linking to implementing system elements. The potential for generating test data files from the detailed modelling of data streams and related XML Schema Definitions. Contribution to the reengineering of existing EA models to align with the generic standard model structure. Implementation of EA based features, such as specific generators for Documents, Files, Test Data Integration of EA with other engineering tools, e.g. IBM Rational DOORS, Serena Dimensions, the EUMETSAT Anomaly Processing Tool APT, bespoke, the EUMETSAT Document Management Tool DMT, Oracle WebCenterContent. Definition of procedural and technical implementation of the interconnectivity between Enterprise Architect and other system engineering tools like IBM Rational DOORS. Implementation and maintenance of the workflow for the change management of models, including The formulation and modelbased review of change proposals and scenarios variants, The management of obsolescence, The creation of change report documents as a basis for the EUMETSAT process for the approval and documentation of changes. Implementation and maintenance of the workflow for the usage of EA for verification, validation and traceability to requirements, Maintenance and further development of templates and technologies for the generation of documentation from the model. General EA usage support for e.g. user management, versioning and baselining, MDG technology, templates preparation and documentation generation, simulation, EA version migration Contribution to the porting of existing EUMETSAT models to EA. Contribution to the EA customisation by implementation of scripts and custom code modules Contribution to the EA model assessments and feedback sessions Modelling of proposed changes to EUMETSAT systems and updating the baseline EA models to align with those changes. The work shall be carried out either in the EUMETSAT facilities in Darmstadt or the companies office in Darmstadt.
