A tropical wave located about 1200 miles east of the Windward Islands is producing a large area of showers and thunderstorms. Environmental conditions are expected to be conducive for gradual development, and a tropical depression is expected to form in 2 or 3 days. Environmental conditions are expected to be conducive for gradual development of this system during the next several days, and a tropical depression will likely form early next week while it moves westward at about 15 mph across the tropical Atlantic. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...30 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...high...80 percent. Showers and thunderstorms associated with an area of low pressure located about 300 miles south of the Cabo Verde Islands have continued to become better organized this afternoon.
