(Telecompaper) Several internet companies have heeded a call by President Obama to help support UNHCR's efforts to aid Syrian refugees. Kickstarter has launched its first-ever non-profit campaign which enables anyone to donate directly to support refugees. Instacart, which enable uses to order groceries, has also joined forces with UNHCR to provide food to refugees. Customers will be given the option to buy food for refugee families when they do their shopping. Twitter launched a donation product early, allowing NGOs working on the crisis to raise funds on Twitter. Airbnb is providing free housing credits to aid workers and matching any gifts from their community. Starbucks is asking customers to donate to a partner NGO through its social media channels.

Project management support EPSSG Ground Segment 1513087 Job Description We are looking for project management support in the development of the ground segment of the EUMETSAT Polar System Second Generation EPSSG satellite system for our client EUMETSAT. You will be part of the EPSSG Ground Segment Team in the Low Earth Orbit Division LEO at EUMETSAT and be involved in supporting the EPSSG Ground Segment development activities. Your tasks will typically include Participate in team management meetings and in meetings with partner agencies, contractors, internal stakeholders, etc. as appropriate Track progress against agreed development plans and signal any likely or identified deviations from these plans, together with proposals to reduce the impact of any delays Track actions and risks, analysing and reporting critical issues to the Project Manager, and support the close out of such actions and risk mitigation activities Prepare minutes of meetings and correspondence to industry andor EUMETSAT partners Contribute to the preparation and execution of the Project Reviews from a management standpoint Contribute to maintaining the project schedule in coordination with EPSSG team members, perform a critical path analysis of the schedule In coordination with the EPSSG Project Control Team, support the Project Manager and team in maintaining project documents such as the Project Management Plan, Product Tree, Team Organisation Chart, Work Breakdown Structure WBS and related documents Prepare presentations and synthetic progress reports for internal e.g. report to senior management and external purposes Follow up subsystem development activities monitor deliverables to and from EUMETSATs partner agencies and industry, and support the review of deliverables. Java EE Development Support 1513086 Job Description We are looking for Java EE Development Support for our client EUMETSAT. You will be part of the Enterprise Data and Application team which handles the collection, documentation and analysis of requirements for new multitie applications, Website and Intranet in close collaboration with internal customers and external suppliers. The responsibilities continue with the specification and design of the solution, the selection of the software platform and related technologies, the implementation and test of the services and applications, and finally the maintenance of the system and application together with the other existing services. The activity is assumed, as a baseline, to require your fulltime participation for the duration of the contract. Work will be principally performed at EUMETSAT HQ in Darmstadt, but may require very limited travel within Europe for certain activities. The work will be released in individual work packages based on rolling wave resource plans and related project plans.
