We are currently looking for a PA and Safety Support Engineer to work in the beautiful city of Noordwijk. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Supporting the Copernicus Space Segment Product Assurance Safety PAS Manager in all activities related to the execution of the Product Assurance tasks for the Copernicus Programme and particular for the Copernicus Expansion missions HPCMs Supporting the predevelopment activities for the HPCMs from PA point of view by ensuring the achievement of the required technological readiness, in cooperation with the engineering function Support the internal Copernicus coordination for the Materials Processes tasks MPCBs in order to improve effectiveness of the review process with Industry Producing reports on project and review activities, including conclusions and recommendations where necessary, participating in progress meetings when needed and reporting on project PA status. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory Masters Degree in engineering or technical sciences. Relevant experience in PA Safety management in the space domain. Several years experience in the space sector, including 5 years in Product and Quality Assurance. Experience in supporting RD and predevelopment activities. Excellent interpersonal skills are needed, together with a high degree organizational and communication abilities, and comfortable with working in a diverse and multinational team environment. Fluency in English. The following skills would be highly desirable Solid background in MP quality. ESA uses its multimission ground systems to acquire, process, archive and distribute data from other satellites so called Third Party Missions TPM. The data from these missions is distributed under specific agreements with the owners or operators of the mission, following the ESA Data Policy. In this role you will be offering support to TPM Mission Manager, managing the process for continuous optimization between data offer and user needs. We are looking for a PA and Safety Support Engineer E3 to join our Modis Aerospace team, working onsite at the European Space Agency in the Netherlands. Participating in the Boards established within the project for the disposition of Nonconformances Failure Reviews, Test Reviews, etc. Produce reports of participation to boards, indicating the contribution made to these boards e.g. review of agendas, participants, minutes of meeting, action follow up, closeout. Guiding and monitoring the application and procurement of EEE parts, materials and processes and controlling implementation of applicable requirements Produce reports on guidance provided, monitoring activities performed and status of compliance to applicable requirements. Monitoring the manufacturing, integration and test activities with quality assurance audits, mandatory and key inspection points, test witnessing and configuration inspections Produce report on activities performed with conclusion and recommendations. Defining the formal acceptance requirements and conducting the Acceptance Reviews of all contractual deliverable items Produce and implement plans for the preparation of the formal acceptance requirements, defining steps, inputs, outputs, participants, responsibilities, interfaces, and coordinating efforts of participants to produce resulting consolidated inputs to project documents. Produce also reports on the activities performed for conduction of Acceptance Reviews. Produce also reports on control activities performed. PA for the verification, qualification, acceptance delivery activities. The launch campaign. Participating in progress meetings and CCB meetings. Produce inputs to the meeting and whenever requested, produce meeting agendas, check that all inputs are available, check that all needed participants are involved, produce minutes of meeting, followup on actions identified, ensure proper closeout. Participating in all project reviews, including safety reviews. Produce reports on all review activities performed e.g. documents reviewed, checklists used, spot check performed, conclusions and recommendations. Reporting project PA status deviations from plan schedule of all of above. To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background experience is required Master degree in Aerospace engineering or a relevant discipline. Several years experience in the space sector, including 5 years in Product and Quality Assurance Experience in supporting RD and predevelopment activities Solid background in MP quality would be an asset Excellent interpersonal skills are needed, together with a high degree organizational and communication abilities, and comfortable with working in a diverse and multinational team environment. Main Responsibilities Within the Data Quality and Algorithm Management Office, the postholder will join the Quality Assurance For Earth Observation QA4EO contract and will work on the CalVal support area, directly responding to the Area Manager with the objective of exploring a new methodology assessment and scientific analysis of in situ data and a combination of field measurements and numerical process modeling over polar ocean and coastal areas with particular emphasis on small scale dynamics in conjuction with satellite altimetric data analysis low and high resolution. We are looking for a bright, young, postdoc like scientist, working in close liaison with ESRIN and with MIO Mediterranean Institute of Oceanography in Marseille France. The post holder will perform the following different domains of activities Coastal altimetry Multimission Polar ice Support the organization and execution of intercomparison exercises and international workshops SheHe will perform the following main activities, under the direction and guidelines of the Work Package leader and Area Manager Processing, Quality Control QC, formatting and analysis of insitu and field campaign data Processing and validation of ocean model outputs with the use all the available in situ and field campaign data and altimetry over selected areas of interest in the coastal regions and over polar ocean. Contribute to coastal and polar Altimetry data analysis and comparisons with in situ measurements and model Sensitivity study, optimization and error assessment of the developed altimetric methods. Use ocean circulation model outputs in support to the interpretation of slope currents positioning and intensity variability as depicted by altimetry Exploring and preprocessing available satellite, model and in situ datasets on the distribution and variability of seaice regions Contribute to the writing of scientific papers and presentations in international conferences Attendance to European progress meeting or conferences The Ideal Candidate Applicants should have a high level of selfmotivation, the capability to work effectively in a team and autonomously, and have excellent organisation skills. A strong proactive attitude is required in identifying problems and proposing solutions. Mandatory knowledge and experience requisites are University degree, or equivalent, in oceanography or a related discipline. Good knowledge of ocean dynamics and ocean physics Development of tools for analysis of large set of data and data visualization Proven experience in the field of oceanography list of publications. Experience in polar sea ice processes and sea ice modeling is of advantage.
