We are looking for an Telecommunications Systems Engineer Office for Institutional European Programmes to work at Harwell, UK. Tasks This position relates to support of activities during the initial phases of the satellite system design and involves preparatory studies at the level of pre Phase A but does not, in principle, involve the implementation phase. The service is expected to deliver support to the Office for Institutional and European Programmes. The following tasks are required Assessment of new concepts and techniques to be applied to next generation institutional e.g. security related satellite communication systems, for both space and ground segment Monitoring and assessing the need and potential for future satellite telecommunication missions and systems in the aforementioned domain Support the initiating and managing prospective studies on new mission concepts and architectures Analysis, definition, initiation and management of industrial activities associated to new projects in the telecommunication satellite system domain Analysing and preparing proposals for new telecommunication satellite telecommunication projects, in particular in the area of institutional i.e. security related programmes, including the definition of mission requirements Definition of all the elements endtoend associated to the missionsystem architecture of new telecommunication satellite projectssystems Assessment and analysis of the best concepts and technical solutions to meet the defined mission and system requirements Assessment of the potential and benefits at system level of new techniquestechnologies.
