Software Engineer for Air Traffic Control Systems Development

We are looking for several software engineers with experience in software development, maintenance and support for the development and maintenance of Air Traffic Control related software systems. These are fulltime and unlimited positions located on our customer side at DFS in Langen Frankfurt am Main, Germany. ResponsibilitiesDuties Contribute in a team to requirements engineering, analysis, design, development, verification, validation, integration and maintenance of air traffic control systems developed and used at the German Air Navigation Service Provider. Contribute to the full software development life cycle and maintenance of ATCATM software systems according to the applicable quality and technical standards for ATC software design and development Write and update technical documentation as applicable in the execution of development projects Perform analysis and propose implementation options on problem reports and change requests for ATC systems under development or under maintenance Contribute to the planning and effort estimations for the implementation of software modules and systems as well as for the implementation of change requests and problem corrections Support the customer in technical meetings, discussions and questions on ATC systems design and development approaches, and propose solutions and improvements based on latest techniques and applicable technical standards QualificationsExperience A university degree in aerospace, informatics, mathematics or physics Strong experience in software development and maintenance, including support to customers. Computer Systems Engineer Linux

As we continue to develop our ground segment computer systems, we are looking for an engineer with a wide range of IT expertise to help evolve and maintain computer systems in our operational, highavailability environments. Your role at EUMETSAT Reporting to, and on occasion deputising for, the Computing Services Team Leader you will be responsible for the design, maintenance and evolution of our ground segment computer systems. You will provide engineering support and maintenance to the operational computer systems, help design architectural evolutions of computer system infrastructure, undertake upgrade activities and manage the procurements of operating systems OS and commercial offtheshelf COTS software and hardware. With proven experience in maintaining large scale computer systems in operational time critical environments you should have a qualification in computer science or equivalent to degree level. You should have a deep knowledge of Linux with a good command of UNIX and Windows operating systems. An associated knowledge of clustering, failover mechanisms, virtualisation and cloud computing is also mandatory. We would also expect you to have previously provided computer services following and embracing ITIL best practice. We expect you to have strong interpersonal and communication skills with excellent organisational and time management capabilities. You should be able to work effectively in English and have some knowledge of French. Responsabilities Duties Development and maintenance of Mission Control Applications following formal software engineering processes. Experience in the definition of software requirements and architectural design and implementation of Spacecraft Monitoring Control applications. Experience in the customization of Spacecraft Monitoring Control applications Good knowledge of programming and scripting languages i.e. CJava, Python Desirable Skills Knowledge of the Mission Control System interfaces with the Mission Planning Systems function and the Flight Dynamics Systems. Experience with test tools for Spacecraft Monitoring Control System, e.g. Satellite Simulators. Experience in IVV integration, verification and validation definition e.g. test plan, test procedures for Mission Control Applications. Linux Operating System.
