Software Systems Engineer Bristol 40k60k A professional engineering and consultancy services company to spacecraft operators and spacecraft primes is actively seeking a Software Systems Engineer. Tasks The Space Division seeks a versatile, knowledgeable and experienced senior software or systems engineer for its spacecraft ground segment activities. The successful candidate will become part of the successful Ground Segment operations group with the responsibility for supporting the overall specification, design, deployment and acceptance of spacecraft ground software systems. The first assignment involves performing a customer facing onsite role for the Galileo mission and will interface with all levels of the project from the end customers, users and subcontractors. The role involves Taking responsibility for key elements of the system, implemented and delivered by a subcontractor Maintaining the requirements baseline for those elements Ensuring design and implementation meet the requirements Analysispreparation of change requests and processing of subcontractor change responses Review of documentation datapacks including, design, test plans, test reports, user manuals etc. Attendance of acceptance campaigns both at the subcontractor site and end user sites Analysis and disposition of Software Problem Reports Technical support to provide input to customer documentationdatapacks Interfacing with the customer and users to discuss problems and changes as needed Essential skills The successful candidate will have a software engineering background and be able to demonstrate a thorough systems engineering approach from requirements through design and verification of delivered and accepted systems. The project standards must be adhered to and therefore an understanding of good software standards are required and an ability to work within project guidelines. The role will be customer facing, so the candidate must be fluent in English and confident in their role representing the company and interfacing with the customer and operators. Desirable skills Software engineering background on large scalecomplex projects Experienced in softwaresystem design including architecture and interface design Experience in requirements specification and management Experience with formal verification processes Understanding of Product Assurance and adherence to project standards Linux systems Having prior experience of the Galileo mission is not a prerequisite for this position but can be an advantage. Any other information e.g. dual location, special security clearance, foreign languages Eligible to work in the UK Security Clearance may be required Willing to travel to site Salary range 40 55K Comprehensive range of benefits including pension, life assurance and private healthcare offered

Hyderabad, July 23: Tata Sons Group chairman Cyrus P. Mistry on Thursday laid the foundation stone for F.C. Kohli Centre on Intelligent Systems . It is being built by Tata Consultancy Services with an investment of Rs.20 crore at International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad.Named after TCS's first CEO F.C. Kohli, who is considered as father of India's information technology industry, the centre will carry out high impact research in natural language processing, robotics and cognitive sciences.Terming it as memorable occasion, Mistry said it was good to see that two leaders in their fields - TCS and IIIT - have taken the initiative and together created a legacy worthy of F.C. Kohli."
