Hyderabad, July 23: Tata Sons Group chairman Cyrus P. Mistry on Thursday laid the foundation stone for F.C. Kohli Centre on Intelligent Systems . It is being built by Tata Consultancy Services with an investment of Rs.20 crore at International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad.Named after TCS's first CEO F.C. Kohli, who is considered as father of India's information technology industry, the centre will carry out high impact research in natural language processing, robotics and cognitive sciences.Terming it as memorable occasion, Mistry said it was good to see that two leaders in their fields - TCS and IIIT - have taken the initiative and together created a legacy worthy of F.C. Kohli."

Software Engineer Java for Space Systems Bristol 26 32k A leading European Space Division that delivers a range of projects to its customers, such as the European Space Agency, spanning large scale system developments used to operate satellites to small technology studies involving prototypes. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, capable and hardworking engineer to join there development team in Bristol as a Java software developer. This role will include responsibility for implementation of software components in a larger system using Java and customer support for current systems software. We are recruiting for a development phase of a new project that is delivering a mission critical system to operate a fleet of satellites. Initially this role will be under the guidance of the project managers, but over time we expect the successful candidate to grow and take on more responsibility within the Division. The role will generally involve all aspects of the standard software lifecycle Working as part of the team to implement new functionality Performing software builds and testing of the software Updating documentation e.g. user manuals, test documentation as needed Analysis and corrective maintenance of software anomalies Interfacing with the customer and users to discuss problems and changes as needed Travel to the customer site as required to assist with testing, provide training or support Essential skills The candidate must have a software engineering background with development experience in Java. An understanding and appreciation of good software development practices is essential, including the use of source code management systems and project standardsguidelines. The candidate must be able to work in a collaborative team environment. It is expected that the role will include some customer interaction, so the successful candidate will be fluent in English and confident in their role in representing the company.
