Toshiba, Microsoft to jointly develop IoT systems

(Telecompaper) Toshiba and Microsoft will jointly develop systems for the Internet of Things (IoT) after signing a memorandum of understanding. The systems will initially target the transportation and logistics market. Leveraging Toshiba's innovative IoT devices with Microsoft's Azure IoT Cloud infrastructure, Toshiba will deliver state of the art sensor-data-driven applications in various market segments starting this calendar year. Toshiba will provide XaaS (X as a Service) making use of in-house technologies such as ApP Lite (Application Processor Lite), in-vehicle driving recorders, sensors and cloud storage services and Microsoft will provide IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), private line services (Azure ExpressRoute) and advanced analytics (Azure Machine Learning) as part of Microsoft Azure.

Primary seal lip is made of wear-proof, glass-fiber-reinforced PTFE that handles sealing against air, reducing pressure on second seal lip, which is made of fluorocarbon rubber or nitrile rubber with Shore hardness of A 72. Connection between PTFE seal lip and FKM or NBR oil seal is executed with state-of-the-art adhesive technology.
