Summary An experienced C Software Engineer minimum 5 years commercial experience looking for an exciting career in the development of space related applications and services. Objective To join our experienced software team developing bespoke applications within the space domain. Opportunities exist to be involved in all of the key software lifecycle aspects requirements, design, development and test. Responsibilities Duties Software Systems Engineering o Requirements Analysis, Design, Implementation, Test and DeliverySupport o Good knowledge of software system architectures, tools and frameworks. o Production of high quality technical engineering documents e.g. Requirements, Design, Testing o Implementation of the software source code o Unit testing of the software Supporting the preparation of proposals to win new work including desirable o Understanding of user requirements o Specification of the solution, trading off alternatives o Estimating the effort required to implement the solution covering the full lifecycle of the project o Writing clear, concise, technical proposals to express the solution and its benefits to the client Software Development o Primarily development of a CQt application for the Linux operating system, with the visual aspects of the system implemented in HTMLCSSJavascript. o Detailed design of modules implementation unit testing and acceptance testing. Qualifications Experience Degree qualified relevant degree with Software Engineering modules, or equivalent experience. Ideally the candidate will have at least 5 years commercial experience of C development. Essential Skills C language HTMLCSSJavascript Requirements Analysis Software system designarchitectures Integration and Test Linux development Linux shell scripting Software system development estimation Software configuration management Understanding of source code configuration management Git UML Enterprise Achitect Microsoft Office Excel, Word Desirable Skills Touch application development JQuery and other Javascript frameworks Qt application framework Requirements Engineering Integration and Test Java language Java Enterprise CVS Subversion Knowledge of Agile Scrum development methodology Relational databases e.g. Oracle, Postgres, SQL Virtualisation Qualities Strong written and oral communication Team player, open and keen to contribute Conscientious, hard working Attention to detail Further Details All roles within Telespazio VEGA have a defined closing date, however if a successful candidate is found before the advert expires the role will be closed early.
