An opportunity for a software engineer with experience in web applications to work onsite at ESAC for Telespazio VEGA UK supporting software development work, providing support in the Data and Engineering Division in ESAC, working across all phases of the software cycle. Responsibilities Duties The successful applicant will be involved in Developing new software to support space mission needs Maintaining existing project software Demonstrating scenarios to users within the scientific community Developing, maintaining and supporting different web applications of the communications web portal for space missions. All phases of the software cycle specifications, preliminary designs, development, integration, testing and final release of production software. Qualifications Experience Masters degree or equivalent qualification in Computer science, Space Systems Engineering, Physics or related specialisation. Essential Skills Java development and testing tools, including OSGI frameworks, Vaadin, Software Project Management, and build automation, tools such as Maven, Gradle Web application frameworks, including Liferay DXP and Liferay 7.1 LDAP Git and GitLab Relational Databases, such as MySQL HTMLXMLSVG and CSS development Software versioning and revision control SVN Development practices Continuous Integration and Microservices architecture Qualities Results orientation and relationship management Good English language skills Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to present and effectively communicate quality system processes. Good organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work in a diverse team environment. Position Reference 061 RHEA Group is currently recruiting a Software Engineer to support our Ground Segment Solutions and MOIS team in both RHEA Group and ESOC premises in Darmstadt, Germany. You will be working closely with RHEAs Development Team in Darmstadt on a number of major software enhancements that aim to widen the scope of our Software products and integrate the latest technologies. RHEA Groups MOIS product is an integrated set of software tools for spacecraft test and mission operation procedure preparation and execution. It is used by ESA on all current and upcoming missions and is also provided as a commercial product to the space industry. The software is used for more than 80 satellites. The Ground Segment Solutions team also provides developments in the area of satellite ground segment and operations for different customers in the space industry. Tasks and Activities As a Software Development and Support Engineer, your envisaged tasks and activities include Providing high quality technical user support to various spacecraft project and mission teams at ESA ESOC and the European industry. Software development activities for applications and tools in the frame of RHEAs space projects. Taking ownership of technical issues, and working closely with the Development Team to resolve more advanced issues where necessary Implementing missionspecific enhancements to the Rheas software products.
