EGSCC Software Engineer

Position Reference 873 RHEA Group is currently recruiting a Ground Segment Software Engineer with experience in EGSCC to reinforce the current service provided to ESA on next generation Mission Control System development activities. This position will be based in ESOC premises in Darmstadt, Germany. You will have the opportunity to develop and support the mission control system and its addon tools that will operate Europes future generation of satellite and space missions. Your contribution to this service will help demonstrate the relevance and addedvalue of EGSCC on Earth Observation missions! Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Development of EGOSCC base systems and core EO features, for current and future EO missions. Providing high quality technical user support to ESOCs Data Systems and Operations teams. Software development activities for addon tools, tailored to EGOSCC. Taking ownership of technical issues and working closely with the Development Team to resolve more advanced issues where necessary. Ensuring timely bug fixes and communication to the customer ESA. Developing new capabilities and functionalities for the evolution of this mission control system. Support the preparation and demonstration with 2 EO missions SWARM and Sentinel6. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have at least a Master degree in Computer Sciences, Software Engineering or similar discipline You must have at least 4 years of experience working in the software development environment. A proven work experience on EGSCC or a related system. Specific space domain knowledge would be a strong plus, in particular SCOS2000 mission control system, ECSS standards, Java 78, Software and ground segment test and validation processes Relevant testing frameworks JUnit, TestNG, Mockito, git. You should have knowledge of technical document writing notably, user requirements, design documentation, and test documentation You possess a dynamic and proactive attitude, with a strong commitment to the ongoing quality of the service we provide to our customer You have excellent communications skills, with very good written and spoken English. Knowledge or experience in the following will be considered a plus SQL and at least one RDBMS, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle DB, etc. Linux, OSGi and related tooling Apache Karaf, Pax Exam, Equinox, Eclipse RCP, IDE or Eclipse Modelling Framework EMF, Knowledge of modern communication protocols used with spacecrafts PUS, DTN, CFDP, MO.
