Software Components Engineer

Client and Location ATG is currently recruiting a Software Components Engineer our clients premises in the Stuttgart area Germany. The company develops and produces travelling wave tubes for satellites and acts as a competence centre for space components and subsystems. Tasks and Responsibilities Design, implementation, unit testingverification and documentation of technical scientific software interfacing with external hardware Measurement Equipment, FPGA, realtime software, embedded software. Development of automated test solution software. Contributions to the system design and verification. Participation in agile work organization and projectspecific reporting. Experience and Education University degree in software engineering or electrical engineering. Several years of experience in the field of software development in smallmedium software projects including verificationvalidation campaigns. Expert in objectoriented software development with JAVA, Eclipse RCP e4. Good experiences in CC, XML programming, and Domain Specific Language Technology based on xTextxBase. Good experience in Logging, Storage and Replay Techniques using JAVAC. Familiarity with in JNI Swig. Familiarity with related programming languages, e.g. Python, Matlab, etc. Good experience with virtualization techniques, e.g. VirtualBox, VMWare. Good experience with version control GIT. Familiarity with Continuous Integration using Jenkins, SonarQube SonarSource. Familiarity with Agile development principles and tools, e.g. JIRA. Expert in Linux programming with CentOS 67 RHEL. Good experience in Client Server development. Familiar with VISA protocol for programming of Measurement Equipment. Understanding of space missions Earth observation and remote sensing and familiarity with ECSS standards would be an advantage. Willingness of international travel within Europe. Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of German is an advantage. Tasks and Responsibilities As EGSE Software Engineer you will be assigned to the EGSE and Ground Systems Section of the Software Systems Division. You will provide on demand expertise in activities related to EGSE systems Maintenance and future developments of the EGSE Reference Facility as part of the Software Systems Laboratory. This includes software builds and integration of industrial elements to the EGSE reference facility as well as the functional verification in endtoend scenarios, maintenance of an EGSE software library configuration management lab website, evaluation of needs and generation of requirements for enhancements Project such as EarthCare support on the procurement, development and utilisation of EGSE systems, including problem solving, interfaces with external systems and project reviews Support on RD studies, specifically related to the European Ground System Common Core EGSCC, and Standardization activities in the EGSE domain. Requirements As successful candidate you should bring a university degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Space Systems Engineering, Mathematics or a related discipline and at least 4 years of postgraduate experience. You should also have extensive practical experience of implementing and building complex software systems, in developing and utilizing EGSEs, in modelling monitoring and control data in compliance with the ESA SCOS monitoring and control systems such as knowledge of modern software engineering practices and standards applied to realtime systems and knowledge of Space Systems and Space System Engineering is necessary. In particular you should have experience with SW development Java, OSGi framework, Eclipse Service oriented and component based architectures OSGi Unix Linux system administration and programming Configuration management and build of large SW projects Git, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus Object Oriented design methods and corresponding tools e.g. MagicDraw SCOS 2000 and the SCOS 2000 MIB ICD Experience with the PUS and its tailoring. An ability to work independently and to establish good working relations with ESA and industrial counterparts is essential.
