This position, in a scientific organisation based near Munich in Germany, calls for experience of developing astronomical data reduction applications in ANSI C. The main working language is English. The role will involve developing data reduction pipelines for operational instruments for the quicklook assessment of data, the healthmonitoring of instruments and detectors, the generation of master calibration data, the reduction of scientific exposures, and data quality control. The work involves the preparation of data reduction procedures with implementation in ANSIC. The main working language is English. The role is centred on a suite of web applications used by astronomers as tools for observation proposal preparations. The work involves maintenance and development of applications within an existing CGI clientserver web application framework, in which the backend model and numerical calculation engine is implemented in C and the frontend mostly based on static HTML templates and some JavaScript. The work will also include refurbishment and enhancements in particular in the C backend framework, towards establishing a dynamic interface to a new, interactive singlepage web application frontend.
