The Legislature will consider a bill during its upcoming session that would increase the Infrastructure Authoritys bonding limit from $1 billion to $3 billion and also allow that money to be spent outside the states borders. Wyoming Moves to Control Uranium Oversight

Under the proposal, the state - which leads the nation in uranium production - would invest about $1.4 million for the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality to set up rules and staff to meet Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements, the Associated Press reported : DEQ Director Todd Parfitt said it could take four to six years for the agency to fully take over the job and get NRC approval. Once the state takes over responsibility, Wyoming would collect fees from the industry to cover its costs of regulating mining.

Grant sought for new Wyoming hose company building

For the second straight year, the Wyoming Hose Company sought approval from the Wyoming Borough council Tuesday to apply for Local Share Account grant for a new hose company building. In 2013, the Wyoming Hose Company received permission from council to apply for a $750,000 LSA grant for the same project.
