Mechanical Lead Engineer

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Lead Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Mechanical Lead Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European leading system house, specialised in development and implementation of high technology solutions for space. Your responsibilities will include Design and development of concepts for lightweight structures and optomechanical assemblies Support for the derivation of technical requirements and budgets from specifications and allocation of mechanical subsystems Responsible for design of the production and verification documents as well as supervision of the development within the project team Definition and specification of interfaces and creation of related documents Implementation and support of design tradeoffs in collaboration with the system engineering and technical disciplines optics, structural and thermal analysis, electronics, etc. Continuous monitoring of compliance with technical requirements, budgets and process guidelines within the development process Preparation of specifications for subcontracting of design and development tasks Evaluation of subcontractor offers Identification, selection and management of external subcontractors Planning and implementation of design reviews Reporting to the customer and project team. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in engineering or equivalent with a focus on the mechanical and constructional area Knowledge of design methodology and 3D CAD design Several years experience in the development and design of lightweight structure and mechanical assemblies for use in space Experience in the application of relevant design and quality standards ECSSE and Q standards Fluency in English German is considered an asset.
