By being more comprehensive and tailored to zip line attraction industry with fewer references to other ASTM standards, standard would promote consistency in interpretation by zip line businesses. Proposed revisions relate to both engineering and operations.

According to the agenda for the Carolina Beach Planning and Zoning Committee, BBM Associates Inc. has applied for a conditional use permit for a Harris Teeter shopping center or big box store at the location of 1000 and 1010 N. Lake Park Blvd. The meeting is Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. Final approval for the project would have to come from the city council at their meeting on August 11, according to the town's senior planner, Jeremy Hardison.
