Polyester staple fiber prices have been lowered in India, by contrast, whereas staying unchanged in Pakistan. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fibers (PSF) on the domestic markets in China, India, and Pakistan. Polyester filament prices in China are also released, whereas the report includes a price comparison of polyester with cotton and viscose in China.

Spun yarn prices were slightly dropping by mid-week in China, as operations were slowly resuming, back from May Day holidays. Most yarn plants will stay shut for a few more days, however, to limit production and inventories. Our weekly report covers China's fiber and yarn prices on cotton, polyester, and viscose markets. Domestic and Import yarn price indicators are released, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang), including a large number of counts for spun cotton, polyester, viscose, and blends. All data are available for download.

With the global apparel industry starting to feel the effects of factory shutdowns and retail store closures in March due to the outbreak of coronavirus, US apparel imports saw a double-digit drop on the month prior, with its largest supplier China recording the steepest fall at 53%.
