Spinners have begun digesting inventories before being able to lower their offers. The yarn/fiber spread has improved in China and India, however dropping in Pakistan. Our monthly report compares polyester staple fiber and polyester spun yarn prices in China, India and Pakistan, in both local currency terms and US$ terms. Gross margins of spinners are also calculated on a monthly basis. Historical data back to 2007 are available for download.

Polyester fiber prices have stabilized in the last days in China, remaining also stable in Pakistan. The fall of PTA prices in the past two days could result in lower polyester price levels in China, whereas a sharp decline of inventories could mean that demand and prices could rise, on the other hand. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) on the domestic markets in China, India, and Pakistan. Polyester filament prices in China are also released, whereas the report includes a price comparison of polyester with cotton and viscose in China.
