Senior Hybrid Propulsion Engineer Gilmour Space Technologies is a young and innovative space engineering company in Australia that is building hybridengine rockets for the small payload market. The company, which has operations in Queensland and Singapore, plans to launch its first commercial small launchers to suborbital space by end 2018, and to Low Earth Orbit by 202021. We are looking for a Senior Hybrid Propulsion Engineer to join our growing team of engineers in Gold Coast, Australia. Gilmour Space Techs hybrid rocket engine program has achieved a number of significant milestones to date, including successful engine firings and test flights using proprietary 3D printed materials. Job Description Requirements The Senior Hybrid Propulsion Engineer will help us rapidly develop our hybrid engine technology, as we prepare for a large motor 18,000 Lb thrust test flight in December this year. This position will report to the Head of Propulsion and be involved in key design, fabrication and test procedures. Given our small team and agressive development milestones, the job will be very handson with a wide remit of design needs, and the candidate will be expected to perform well under pressure. At least 5 years of handson experience in large above 10 Kn Hybrid Rocket motors, including its design, fabrication and testing. Required experience with oxidisers, pressure systems, piping and valves. Experience with hydrogen peroxide and knowledge of related chemicalmaterials e.g. fuels and ablative systems, would be advantageous. Minimum Bachelor in Aerospace Engineering or similar.
