Propulsion Lead Engineer

One of our clients in the UK is looking for a Propulsion Lead Engineer. The candidate will be responsible for directing a team of engineers in the design, manufacture, testing, launch preparation and inorbit commissioning of their propulsion systems. Tasks To work within the propulsion group, leading major developments in chemical or electric propulsion systems. Key Tasks Project scoping and delivery for bipropellant and electric propulsion systems. Primary interface with customer for the propulsion system. Initial and detailed system analysis and design. Documenting and implementing design changes using Engineering Change Control. Support equipment specification and supplier selection. Write detailed assembly and test procedures. Assembly and testing of the propulsion systems. Support component system acceptance testing, defining pressure electrical test setups. Qualifications A university degree in Mechanical Aerospace Engineering. Knowledge and skills Positive Enthusiastic. Flexible and able to work on a variety of projects. Organized and decisive, high attention to detail. Good allround knowledge of rocket propulsion systems, with an understanding of the functionality of valves, regulators, actuators etc. Writing detailed reports and presenting to customers. Good analytical skills with some experience of mathematical modelling simulation software. Software Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Excel, Word Project Essential Experience Experience within Space industry delivering GEOclass propulsion systems. Task management of engineering teams.
