Job description For our customer, the European Space Agency ESA, we are seeking an IT Support Technician to work at ESAs ESTEC site in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Responsibilities You will be a member of Termas IT team responsible for the maintenance and operations of the IT infrastructure of ESAs Electrical Engineering Dept TECE and Software and Simulation TECS laboratories and facilities The laboratories support a wide spectrum of space engineering activities concerned with Computerbased modelling and simulation Onboard computer and data systems Onboard software Avionics test benches Simulators and Functional Verification Reference Facilities FES, SVF, EGSE System Reference Databases Attitude and orbit control Image processing Electromagnetics Space environment and effects analysis Spacecraft electrical checkout systems Real time software with Hardware in the loop Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality 3D and 2D Visualisation The user community comprises around 400 technical staff, all located in ESTEC. To support this heterogeneous and continually changing technical infrastructure, the laboratories are equipped with multivendor computer facilities linked together via local area networks. The software packages running on the facilities are numerous, and constantly change to support current and new projects. Your specific responsibilities will be to provide support in IT Operations Management in accordance with ESA Security Directives and SECOPS for Service Providers including Process Definition and Documentation, change management etc. Incident Management 3 tier first, second, third line support Asset Management including removaldisposal User Access Control Management System and Application control IT hardware, Virtual Machine VM, OS, Applications Maintenance IT Security PatchVulnerability Support Network SupportManagement VM and Data Backup Information Management and Storage support Logging and Monitoring Services Reporting Services System acquisition services Development support services. Additionally, you may be required to support Office 365 testing e.g. analyse nonstandard interfaces and identify required solutions to arising issues. This is a fulltime position located at ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The requested start of work is July 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter. Qualifications Competencies The successful candidate shall have A degree at least Bachelors level in Software EngineeringIT or relevant experience. Possession of relevant certifications will be an additional asset. Some years relevant professional experience in IT support helpdesk in corporate environments predominantly Windows to a wide user community, including troubleshooting users operating system and application problems. Particularly well qualified graduate level candidates showing aptitude for the tasks will also be considered. Experience with virtualization and VM environments. Fluent English, written and spoken. Desirable Knowledge of Microsoft 365 would be useful. Soft Skills Experience of providing user support for a large international environment. For our activities at the European Space Operations Centre, we are currently seeking to employ a highly motivated and enthusiastic IT Support Technician to work in an exciting innovative international environment. The role will be part of a Network Operations Centre NOC tasked with coordinating, configuring and monitoring activities related to the ESA ground segment, specifically the Telemetry, Tracking and Command TTC stations of the ESTRACK ground station network.
