We are recruiting a Mission Control Systems Operations Engineer. In this role you will be responsible for the planning, supervision and execution of mission control systems operations for all our LEO missions, along with facilitating the preparation our recurrent spacecraft. You will also maintain the operational procedures, system databases and other tools and products used to support our mission control systems and use your expertise to identify ways to enhance opportunities as we prepare for the launch of the next generation of satellites. This is an opportunity to enhance your experience in the development, maintenance and operations of satellite mission control systems. With your experience in verification and validation testing of operational ground segments, you will help manage evolutions of LEO mission control systems to increase capacity, performance and efficiency, and to prevent obsolescence. You will use your organisational skills in an operational environment, communicating ideas and issues clearly and concisely. We can offer you the chance to work in an international environment, with team members and partners from our Member states and beyond. Mission Control Operations Systems I, V V Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As MCO Systems Integration, Verification Validation Engineer, you will have the following responsibilities Requirements engineering mainly related to the verification processes Design of the mission control and operations elements defining described functional, physical and software characteristics Planning, preparation and execution of integration and verification activities Specifically, for ground segment phase C and D provide support for Procurement of mission control and operation elements Definition of the IVV approach, Test Specification and Test Harnesses Preparation and execution of the testing, integration and acceptance of procured elements Installation of ground segment elements at sites, and their integration into the overall Ground Segment system Verification and validation IVV of the integrated Ground Segment Participation in formal reviews and technical meetings at MCO subsegment and Ground Segment level. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in engineering or another relevant discipline Several years of experience in space systems engineering, including knowledge of ECSS standards and system life cycle processes Mission control and operations systems for large and complex EO missions, including SCOS2K based control systems and CCSDS SLEbased interfaces with TTC Stations Testing and verification of mission control and operations systems and in their integration into the overall ground segment Requirements management of their verification via VCDs Preparation of ground segment documentation relating to requirements engineering, design, and IVV planning and execution, but with a focus on IVV documentation Knowledge of DOORS and ModelBased System Engineering and related tools. Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. This job is located in Darmstadt.
