Nokia, Orange, Du, Liberty Global form Light Communications Alliance

(Telecompaper) A number of telecom, infrastructure and device manufacturing companies have come together to form the Light Communications Alliance (LCA), with the aim of promoting new Light Communications (LC) mobile technology. The founding members, namely Nokia, Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (Du), Ledvance, Liberty Global, Lucibel, Orange, pureLiFi, LiFi Research & Development Centre, Velmenni, Zero.1, CEA Leti, and Institut Mines-Telecom, want to establish and advocate the use of standards in LC, which they say will complement and enhance 5G services and other radio frequency technologies such as Wi-Fi.

Block Communications renews with Nielsen for Local TV data

Nielsen (NYSE: NLSN) and Block Communications have signed a renewal agreement for Nielsen Local TV measurement services across Blocks TV stations and markets. Block stations in Louisville will continue to use Nielsen data to demonstrate value to advertisers.
