Türk Telekom has announced 2014 second quarter results. Türk Telekom's Tivibu service ended with 1.9 million TV subscribers, up 1.3% in the quarter. Of the total, the number of IPTV subscribers was 302,000, down 6,000 quarter-on-quarter.

The number of homes paying for IPTV will rocket to 191 million by end-2020; more than double the 90 million recorded at end-2013 and up from only 36 million at end-2010, according to a new report from Digital TV Research.

(Telecompaper) There were 96 million IPTV subscribers around the world at the end of 2013, 21 percent or 17 million subscribers more than a year earlier, according to Point Topic. Some 14.1 percent of fixed broadband subscribers also subscribed to an IPTV service at the end of last year, making it an important driver for continued growth in demand for broadband. Eastern European markets' IPTV customers grew by 31 percent to 5.18 million last year, with East Asia's up 24 percent to 44.91 million, North America's up 16 percent to 13.19 million and the rest of Europe up 12 percent to 28.93 million. Africa and Oceania saw 22 percent growth to 128,500 and 25 percent growth to 30,000, respectively.
