Authorities said Friday that 54-year-old William "Rusty" Beamon of Atlanta was in charge of Appalachian Community Bank's foreclosure liquidation department. Prosecutors say Beamon had a real estate agent put a bank-owned house on the market for him and pocketed more than $20,000 in rent payments from the occupants.

Todd Kenneth Eugene Wolfe, 53, of Stewartstown, remains in prison on $20,000 bail, charged with fleeing police, DUI/4th or subsequent offense, disorderly conduct, careless driving and failure to yield to emergency vehicles.

A real estate agent has been convicted and fined for trying to bribe a cemetery official for extra plots of land, in the first conviction secured by Victoria's anti-corruption body. The Sunshine Magistrate's Court heard he tried to give $5,000 to an anti-corruption operative posing as a cemetery worker to try and secure six plots of land for his family at the Williamstown Cemetery.
