Job description For our customer, ESAESTEC, we are seeking an experienced Spacecraft System Engineer to work at ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Galileo is Europes global navigation satellite system, which will provide a highly accurate global positioning service under civilian control. The Galileo system is currently being brought into operation, with the constellation of orbiting satellites becoming established. The ESA oversees the overall programme and ensures that the various elements of the Galileo system are in place ready to support Galileo services. Responsibilities The contractor will provide system engineering support to the Galileo System and Platform activities, reporting to the Galileo Space Segment Infrastructure Manager. This includes support to Satellite Qualification and Acceptance for launch as well as In Orbit Infrastructure and Operations. The candidate will contribute in particular to the following areas Participation to Satellite Acceptance Reviews, Flight Readiness Reviews, Launch Readiness Reviews Operations Reviews etc.. The requested start of work is April 2016. Qualifications Competencies Applicants shall have an university degree, in a relevant discipline or other suitable qualification. The candidate shall have a good knowledge and proven experience in spacecraft systems in project phases and in particular late and operational phases, as well as in mission design and analysis. The candidate shall have demonstrated capabilities to work in space projects with complex technical and industrial interfaces. A minimum of 3 years of experience in satellite activities and more specifically in satellite system activities. The position involves some travel, mainly within Europe.
