12% of Dutch have PayPal on their smartphone - Telecompaper

(Telecompaper) The number of smartphone apps used to pay online or via mobile is steadily growing in the Netherlands. That said, use is still limited, according to research by Telecompaper, based on the Consumer Panel. Only the PayPal app has garnered some traction: 12 percent of the Dutch say they have the app for this payment service on their smartphone.

Dutch DVB-T to take place, with KPN and mystery participant

(Telecompaper) The DVB-T auction will take place, with KPN as one of the two participants. Spectrum regulator Agentschap Telecom said it has reviewed all applications from potential candidates, and that both parties have been admitted. The application process opened on 17 May.

Dutch Mobile Operators 2016-Q1

This latest report from Telecompaper's continued research into developments in the Dutch communication services market looks at the leading Dutch mobile network operators: KPN, Vodafone, T-Mobile including Tele2 and the rest of MVNO market. It analyses first quarter 2016 results, both revenue and subscriber base, and compares the findings with results in the previous quarters and year. The report provides splits at different levels, from postpaid to prepaid but also from a network operator to retail point of view. Additionally it also includes a five-year forecast (both network operator service revenue and mobile SIMs) for the Dutch market. Fibre broadband reaches milestone 1 mln Dutch subscribers

(Telecompaper) Broadband via fibre networks reached the milestone of 1 million subscribers in the Netherlands at the end of March 2016, according to the Dutch Broadband 2016 Q1 report from Telecompaper. The 5 percent quarterly growth in fibre broadband connections helped the total broadband market to grow by 0.8 percent during the first quarter and reach almost 7.2 million lines at the end of March. Cable broadband also grew slightly in the quarter, and with over 3.3 million connections remained the most popular broadband technology in the Netherlands. Fibre grew to a market share of almost 14 percent, while DSL lost 0.3 percentage points during the quarter to end Q1 with slightly more than 40 percent of connections. Ziggo, the largest cable operator in the Netherlands, added only 8,000 new broadband customers during the first quarter, ending the period with just over 3.1 million customers. Its market share decreased slightly to 43.2 percent. Number two KPN (including its other brands such as Telfort, XS4ALL and Edutel) had more net additions during the first quarter with 22,000, but its market share was unchanged at 40.8 percent of all connections.

Dutch Broadband 2016-Q1
