Dutch postpaid mobile providers scoring better with customer

2016-06-23 09:45:00| Telecompaper Headlines

(Telecompaper) Dutch postpaid mobile subscribers are increasingly positive about their providers, according to the latest research by Telecompaper. The 'Postpaid Mobile Insights Q1 2016' report shows that the NPS (net promoter score) in the postpaid market increased over the past year from +4 to +11. While consumers on Sim-only plans are usually less enthusiastic about their providers, the NPS for Sim-only providers reached the same level as the total postpaid market in Q1. Sim-only provider Simyo actually had the highest NPS of all the providers researched. Simyo's NPS, which measures the share of customers who would be very likely to recommend their provider to others, reached +35. The Telecompaper report also shows that postpaid continues to dominate the Dutch mobile market. The share of postpaid in the total market has remained at 81 percent for the past year. Sim-only accounts for 43 percent of postpaid subscribers, a figure also little changed in the last 12 months.

(Telecompaper) The number of Dutch households with quad-play subscriptions, including both fixed and mobile services, grew to 775,000 at the end of March 2016, according to Telecompaper's Dutch Consumer Multiplay Market report. More than 11 percent of all broadband subscriptions were part of quad-play plans at the end of Q1 2016, up from 7.3 percent a year earlier. The greater number of quad-play subscribers is also leading to an increase in associated revenues. The 4P revenues increased to 17 percent of all multiplay revenues in the market, from almost 11 percent a year ago.

Dutch Consumer Multiplay Market 2016-Q1

2016-06-17 15:30:00| Telecompaper Reports

In this report we analyse the Dutch telecoms markets from a bundling perspective. We report on the number of 1P, 2P, 3P and 4P subscribers, based on both company reports and our own calculations and estimates. Our assumption is that broadband is the leading telco service. Hence we focused on multiplays containing broadband. It is a proxy for households, now that broadband penetration is approaching 100% (assuming further that subscribers only very rarely take two separate broadband subscriptions).

Half of Dutch have music app on their phone

2016-06-17 09:45:00| Telecompaper Headlines

(Telecompaper) Almost half of Dutch consumers with a smartphone have a music application installed on their device. Music apps are especially popular among teenagers, and men are also more likely than women to have music apps installed. Spotify is on 26 percent of men's smartphones, compared to 23 percent of women in the Netherlands, but Deezer is an exception and installed on more women's phones than men's, according to the latest Dutch Apps Market report from Telecompaper. The Dutch Apps Market report, based on a survey in May 2016, found that Spotify is the most popular music app, installed on a quarter of Dutch smartphones. Shazam came second, with a fifth of the Dutch having the app on their smartphones. Apple's iTunes and Google Music tied for third place, while Soundcloud, Apple Music, Deezer and Napster were all on less than 10 percent of smartphones.
