The tasks of the key person will typically include installation, test, validation, verification, debugging of applications relevant to the Stations Backend STC, CSMC, TMTCS, MCM, etc. participation in SWReview Boards, Progress Meeting and Reviews with industrial C0ntractors, engineering support to missions during critical phases support Stations and NDIU integration, validation, testing support deployment and validation of applications in the ESTRACK core Stations engineering support to SVTs, MRTs, and other missionlevel test for mission preparation. This job position is for our customer EUMETSAT. The keyperson will be an input for the overall System and ground segment VV activities. The keyperson will typically be involved in tasks related to test tools test data, with focus on tools data required for VV of instrument data processing chains. Tools can serve for example the purpose of test data generation manipulation reformatting, test data injection into the ground segment and test data collection analysis. Typical asked tasks are Identification of the suite of test tools and test data required to support VV activities, and definition of development procurement approach and associated planning. Preparation of User Requirement Documents URDs, Statements of Work SoWs, etc., as needed as input for development andor procurement activities. Contribution to the inhouse development and validation of test tools and their maintenance. Support for procurements of test tools test data, including the analysis of received deliverables and attending acceptance tests. Support for acceptance of test tools test data provided by partners such as ESA, CNES, DLR. Simulation of test data sets for VV using available tools compilation of test data sets using real data from satellite instrument onground tests or inorbit operation Identification of needs for and, as needed, support for the implementation of an infrastructure to host test tools and test data. Support for configuration management of tools test data sets, using applicable EUMETSAT processes. Contribution to the preparation of VV tests of processing chains, such as preparation of test specifications and procedures, specifically for aspects related to use of test tools and test data. Contribution to the execution of VV tests of processing chains, specifically for the analysis of test results, inter alia using developed test analysis tools, with documentation of the results in test reports In addition the keyperson will be involved in some more general tasks Participation in relevant internal and external meetings. Regular review of System level documentation dealing with requirements, system concepts, architecture and design, technical analyses, to identify information of importance for test tools test data. In addition, and with the same aim, analysis of documents provided by other teams in EUMETSAT and by external partners. Support for the preparation of documentation for System level reviews, during the covered period the System Requirements Review and Preliminary Design Review. PROFILE The keyperson shall have the following experience and background University degree in the domain of engineering, physics or equivalent. At least 3 years of general experience with the development of onground processing of data from satellite instruments for Earth observation. At least 3 years of direct involvement in VV activities for instrument processing chains, including production of test tools and of test data. At least 3 years of experience with software specification, design and development and relevant standards. Very good skills in higher programming languages, such as Fortran, CC, Java. The following experience would be an additional asset Direct involvement in preparation of test plans, specifications, procedures and reports. The keyperson shall have furthermore the following skills be able to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision, have a systematic approach to work, be able to plan hisher work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks, have the capability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation, have good communication skills verbal and written, be willing to work in a team of engineers and in cooperation with industry and partner agencies.
