JetBlue pilot who ran through aisles ranting about terrorism sues airlines

NEW YORK, New York - A JetBlue Airways pilot who terrified passengers by ranting about Jesus and al-Qaida in the aisles during a 2012 trip from New York to Las Vegas has sued the airline for failing to recognise he was ill. Clayton Osbon is suing the airline for US $16-million, claiming it endangered the flight by failing to spot his mental instability.

Alaska Airlines chose the Renton-based company, which was founded in 2011, as the provider for its next wave of in-flight entertainment.

Delta keeps US-Japan route sought by American Airlines

Delta Air Lines will be allowed to keep a route between the U.S. and Japan that was sought by American Airlines Group Inc. The U.S. Department of Transportation said Friday that Delta could retain the route between Seattle and Haneda International Airport but with more flights. The Dallas Morning News reports Atlanta-based Delta must fly the route daily and not go long stretches without scheduled service.

Labor Unions and U.S. Airlines Set Aside Differences to Attack Gulf Carriers

The Open Skies fight by American Airlines, United Airlines, and Delta Air Lines against Gulf carrier rivals Qatar Airways, Emirates, and Etihad has produced some strange bedfellows. Most notably Airports Council International-North America and the U.S. Travel Association have come out in favor of the Gulf carriers, the latter's CEO Roger Dow stating last week "We wish we did not have to stand apart from our friends in the airline industry on this or any other issue."
