Apparel exports from Bangladesh have remained very strong in the first quarter this year, although with different results depending on destinations. Exports to the French and US markets have recovered, whereas shipments were further surging to Japan. Unit prices have been kept under control as the sharp rise of labor costs has not yet been taken into account.
