U.S. Apparel Import Prices in 1st Half 2016: China vs. India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Mexico and Honduras

US apparel import prices have declined in nearly all categories in the first half this year and for most of origins, reflecting the need for pressuring costs on a depressed market. Unit values have dropped across the board, with however large differences depending on product categories and supplying countries, as reflected by our below data. Our series of statistical tables offer a comprehensive comparison of unit values per origin and product category. The report also includes a detailed comparison of Chinese price trends vs other origins, through a series of indexes. Our full table is available for download.

EU Clothing Imports in 2nd Quarter and 1st Half 2016: Origins (Statistical Report)

EU's clothing imports have rebounded in the second quarter in volume terms from China and a series of Asian countries, reflecting a recovery of the market after the euro has bottomed out against the dollar. Unit prices have also fallen in both dollar and euro terms, although still higher than five year earlier in euro terms and far lower in dollar terms. Latest trends are reflected by our comprehensive review of 2nd quarter and 1st half data per origin, from 2011-15. A large number of statistical tables are published, with volume, value and unit value changes released in both euro and US$ terms. The full table is also available for download.

US Apparel Imports in 1st Half 2016: China vs. Rest of World (Statistical Report)

China's shares of the US apparel import market have slightly declined overall in the first half this year. The drop has not only affected cotton apparel, but also man-made fiber apparel where China was still making gains in the last year. This is reflected by our statistical review covering the last five years and comparing US apparel imports from China with shipments from Rest of the World (RoW) for every category of products, in volume, value and unit value terms. Historical data are available for H1 2012-2016.
